Salisbury’s tennis team beat East Davidson 9-0 to wrap up another undefeated CCC season.
The Hornets (16-2, 8-0) haven’t lost a league match since 2002 and have won 122 in a row against league opponents.
There were only eight league matches this season, as Thomasville didn’t field a team.
Anna Flynn, Sallie Kate Meyerhoeffer, Kathryn Rusher, Grace Steinman, Emily Capito and Kathleen Mowery won in singles.
Meyerhoeffer-Alexandra Drye, Madline Hoskins-Kayla Honeycutt and Steinman-Rusher were the winning doubles teams.

? Davie County topped North Davidson 8-1 in CPC tennis on Wednesday.
Nadia Gregory, Allie Billings, Jennifer Webster, Laura Kinder, Ashley Dowell and Leah Gryder swept singles.
Billings-Webster and Gregory-Kinder notched doubles wins.
? North Rowan’s girls beat South Davidson 6-2 in a YVC match on Wednesday.
Daisy Lemke, Taylor Love, Catherine Crawford and Victoria Scheve won singles matches for the Cavaliers (8-8, 7-5 YVC).
Veronica Leasure-Crawford and Scheve-Honeycutt won in doubles. The other doubles match was halted by darkness.
North begins play in the YVC tournament at Salisbury City Park on Monday.

? South Rowan’s girls won 7-2 against Statesville in NPC play on Wednesday.
Sydney Cox, Aspen Mushala, Madison Brewer and Sara Bradley won in singles for the Raiders.
Erin Freeze-Bethany Krrijer, Cox-Mushala and Brewer-Bradley won in doubles.
Prep soccer
Bobby Cardelle, Zach Sukkasem, Michael Brown and Adolfo Ortega notched goals as Salisbury beat CCC foe East Davidson 4-0 on Wednesday.
“Brown played the best match of his career, and that’s saying a lot,” SHS coach Matt Parrish said. “He’s had some great ones.”
Cardelle, Sukkasem and Spencer Dixon had assists.
Max Fisher recorded his second straight shutout in goal.
The Hornets (9-2-1, 3-1) are tied for first with West Davidson and play the Green Dragons at home at 7 p.m. on Monday.
It”ll be a pivotal match as the Hornets seek their ninth straight league title.
? South Rowan lost 4-0 to A.L. Brown on Wednesday.
Dalton Carter, Tony Ramirez and Javier Saucedo were standouts for South.
South plays at East Rowan at 4:30 today.
Jayvee soccer
Semir Salcinovic, Chandler Blackwell, Watson Pitner and Carter Woolly scored goals for Salisbury in a 4-1 win against East Davidson on Wednesday.
Prep golf
West Rowan and East Rowan shot 155 and tied for first in an NPC match played at Rolling Hills.
Kayla Boley (49), Kelly Boley (53) and Neely Holloway (53) were scorers for West.
East scorers were Emily Cleveland (48), Grace Stokes (53) and Riley Padget (54).
Statesville, led by Evelyn Stein’s 43, finished third at 156.
Carson shot 165 and finished fifth. Scorers for the Cougars were Adison Collins (51) Katlyn Smith (57) and Amber Reeder (57).
After five matches, East and West are tied for first at 733. Statesville is at 744.
South has only two golfers and couldn’t register a team score. Whitney Parks shot 58 to lead the Raiders.
Salisbury’s golfers also played. Isabella Rusher and Grace Yatawara shot 38s. Brooke Smith shot 48.
Prep volleyball
The Cabarrus Stallions beat the Greensboro Panthers 25-11, 25-15 and 25-13.
Anna Messisco had five digs, seven kills and three blocks. Emily Messisco had eight aces, four kills and two blocks. Kendyl Parker had six kills and two blocks. Jessica Chapman had six kills.
? The Stallions also beat Countryside Montessori 25-16, 25-7 and 25-11. Anna Messisco had five digs, 12 assists and five aces. Parker had five kills and four aces. Emily Messisco had four digs, three kills and three aces. Chapman had five digs. Parker had three kills.
7th-grade football
Knox rolled over Corriher-Lipe 52-0.
Nimely Davis, Brooks Kennedy, Denver Venn, Keyshawn Eller and Zarreck Barger were defensive standouts. Laderious Carter scored on an interception return and returned a blocked punt for a score. Martavio Rankin blocked two punts. Issac Baker also had an interception, as Knox posted its third shutout.
Nick Austin ran for two touchdowns, while Venn, Rankin and T.J. Gibson ran for one apiece behind a strong offensive line.
Rankin, Xavier Lowe, Jaleel Webster and Griffen Myers scored two-point conversions. Myers threw to Elijawan Oglesby for a conversion.
The Erwin Eagles are next for Knox.
? North Rowan Middle won 36-6 against China Grove.
Jaden Jones had two rushing TDs for the Mavericks and returned a fumble 27 yards for another score.
Levaric Johniken scored on a 20-yard run, and McGwire Smith threw a 40-yard scoring pass to Xavier Haley.
Smith tossed a pair of two-point conversion passes to Travis London, and Maddux Holshouser ran for two points.
North (3-1) is at Corriher-Lipe next week.
8th-grade football
Knox beat Corriher-Lipe 28-0.
Cameron Horne rushed for 176 yards and three TDs.
Juan Fair rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Leading the blocking were Travis Strother, Nassir Sloan, Ishmael Hairston, Dejuan Stevens, Marcus Blair and Chris Garrison.
Defensive leaders for the Trojans were Rahiem Hovis, Simeon Caldwell, Kennereck Patteson, Andreon Joyner and Joe Young.
Patterson had a sack and a fumble recovery. Caldwell had a sack.
The Trojans take on Erwin next week.
? North Rowan Middle rolled 46-16 against China Grove.
Joseph Scott scored four TDs on runs of 18, 25, 30 and 28 yards to lead the unbeaten Mavericks (4-0).
Malik Alford scored on runs of 50 and 7 yards.
Javin Goodine had a rushing TD of 5 yards, and Corbin Smith ran for two conversions.
North visits Corriher-Lipe next week.
Middle school tennis
The Southeast girls defeated Corriher-Lipe 8-1.
Singles winners for the Patriots were Mackenzie Koontz, Brienne Leach, Keelee Morgan, Lindsay Elmore, Alexis Witt and Abby Johnson.
Morgan-Elmore and Koontz-Leach were winning doubles teams.
Local golf
The South Rowan Public Schools Bible Teaching Association will hold a Captain’s Choice golf tournament as a fundraiser this Saturday at Crescent. Proceeds will help fund Bible elective classes in the South Rowan area public schools.
Cost is $60 per player in teams of four. Entry fee includes lunch. Registration and lunch begins at noon. The shotgun start is at 1:30 p.m.
Prizes for first, second and third, closest to the pin and longest drive. Ben Mynatt Nissan is the hole-in-one sponsor.

Juliana Conte scored in the second overtime to lift Catawba to a 3-2 win against Pfeiffer on Wednesday.
