Sharon Deal made her first hole-in-one on No. 13 at Corbin Hills on Tuesday.
Deal used a 3-iron. She was playing in the Mary Cobb McCombs Member-Member Tournament.
The shot was witnessed by Norma Burgess, Phyllis Durland and Susan Morris.
Winning low net was the team of Karla Swanson and Joan Havil. The team of Deal and Burgess finished second.
The team of Treva Honeycutt and Louise Collins finished third, and the team of Bev Cobb and Eileen Full was fourth.
The team of Durland and Morris won low gross. The team of Beth Calhoun and Kristi Laton was second.
Prep tennis
South Rowan won twice against West Rowan on Tuesday in an unusual NPC tennis doubleheader.
The teams had started a match that was halted by rain on Aug. 22. They were rained out again on Sept. 17.
South won 7-2 and 5-4.
In the 7-2 match, Bethany Karriker, Sydney Cox, Aspen Mushala, Madison Brewer and Sara Bradley won in singles for South. Cox-Mushala, and Brewer-Bradley won in doubles.
Dorothy Mauldin won in singles for the Falcons. Mauldin-Tori Adams won in doubles.
? In the 5-4 match, Mushala, Brewer and Bradley won in singles for South.
Karriker-Mushala and Brewer-Bradley won in doubles.
Mauldin, Adams and Meredith Stanly won singles matches for West. Mauldin-Adams won in doubles.

Prep cross country
The Rowan County Championships will be held this afternoon at Dan Nicholas Park.
The boys championship race is at 3:45. The girls championship race is at 4:30.

Prep volleyball
Davie beat North Davidson 24-26, 25-18, 26-24 and 25-22 on Tuesday in a CPC match.
Davie (5-2) got 14 kills from Rachel Ruble, 23 assists from Kristina Parrish, and 16 digs from Kendall Tift.
? The Cabarrus Stallions defeated Forsyth Home Education 25-12, 25-19, 22-25 and 25-20.
Anna Messisco had 24 digs, eight kills, three blocks and 21 assists.
Emily Messisco had 18 digs, eight kills and six aces.
Jessica Chapman had 11 digs and eight kills.
Kendyl Parker had nine kills and two blocks. Karley Long had two blocks.
College golf
Catawba’s men’s golf team finished 10th in a 12-team field in the Tusculum Classic.
Lincoln Memorial shot 562 to win the two-day event. Catawba shot 603.
Matt Hardman led the Indians with 73-72 – 145. He was 11th overall.
? Catawba’s women’s golf team placed fifth out of 11 teams in the Tusculum Classic. Tusculum won the two-day event.
Leslie Long shot 77-80 – 157 to pace the Indians. She was 11th. Madison Kennedy (Salisbury) shot 82-77 – 159 and finished 19th.
? Winthrop’s Allison Lee (Salisbury) shot 84-78 – 162 in the Highlander Invitational in Draper, Va., and tied for 23rd.
? Appalachian State’s Lauren Smith (Salisbury) made an eagle in the recent Great Smokies Intercollegiate in Waynesville.
? UNC Greensboro’s Roy Dixon (Salisbury) shot 80-76-79 – 235 in the VCU Shootout and tied for 47th.
College tennis
Catawba’s men’s tennis team won 6-3 against Pfeiffer on Tuesday at Johnson Tennis Center.
Alex Macdonald and Jack Mordey rallied for singles wins and also teamed for a close doubles win.
College volleyball
Minus setter Jordan Raye, Catawba rallied to beat Pfeiffer 19-25, 25-10, 25-14 and 25-23 at Goodman Gym on Tuesday. Kaitlyn Whitmer had 22 kills for the Indians. Carson Brewer had 14 digs. Alli Parrish ad eight kills. Kaytee Frabotta filled in at setter and had 25 assists.
7th-grade football
North Rowan’s seventh-graders beat Southeast 14-0 on Tuesday.
Jayden Jones scored the touchdowns on runs of 65 and 50 yards. McGwire Smith passed to Dadrian Campbell for a conversion.
North is at home against China Grove next week.
? Knox stayed unbeaten with a 38-16 win against West Rowan Middle.
Montavio Rankin scored touchdowns on runs of 20, 66 and 61 yards for the Trojans.
Nick Austin scored on a 22-yard run. Xavier Lowe had an interception return for a touchdown.
Issac Baker ran for a pair of two-point conversions and threw one to Tony Campbell.
Roger Chimeny, John Pruitt, Tory James and Joe Steinman led the blocking, along with fullbacks Jaleel Webster and Laderious Carter.
Defensively, Nimely Davis had two sacks and a fumble recovery. Zarrek Barger made big hits and recovered a fumble. Baker picked off a pass.
Keyshawn Ellers had two good kickoff returns.
Knox is at Corriher-Lipe next week.
Middle school tennis
Southeast’s girls tennis team beat Mooresville 6-3.
Brienne Leach, Keelee Morgan, Lindsay Elmore and Alexis Witt won singles matches for the Patriots.
Mackenzie Koontz-Leach and Morgan-Elmore won in doubles.
Middle school volleyball
Sacred Heart’s varsity team beat St. John’s 25-12 and 25-9. Ashley Wood had 13 aces and four kills. Breona Bland had four aces. Dakotah Insley had two aces. Leah Wyrick had two kills.
Middle school soccer
Salisbury Academy rolled to an 8-2 win against North Hills in jayvee action.
Dominic Capito scored four goals. Charlie Barr, Mitch Jeter, Will Fowler and Archie Dees scored a goal apiece. Jeter and George Fisher had assists.
Marshall Overcash made four saves. J.C. Fecteau, Chad van der Poel, Hank Robbins and Nick Snipes made major contributions to the win.
? In varsity action, Salisbury Academy turned in a stellar defensive match and beat Statesville Christian 3-0.
Marcus Corry scored twice, and Carter Cook had a goal.
Drew Shelby made three saves. Mike Hughes, Steven Anderson. Adam Drye, Ben Coulter, Ruth Clement and Ellen Simons had outstanding performances.
? Sacred Heart’s varsity won 9-0 against Concordia.
Justin Boyd had three goals and three assists for the Dolphins. Will Taylor, Josh Faulkner, William Austin, Melvin Bonilla, Eric Turnbull and Erica Turnbull scored a goal apiece. Erica Turnbull scored her first goal of the season on a free kick. Michael Childress had an assist.
Youth baseball
The Extreme Performance 11U baseball team won the AAU Central N.C. Fall Championship in its first tournament of the season.
Players are Zeb Burns, Trace Beaver, Luke Koppe, Trey Carlton, Jake Davis, Garret Jacobs, Gavin Sprinkle, Cade Sells, Jack Fisher, Zachary Martlock, Ray Beaver and Mitch Jeter. Coaches are Tim Burns, Mark Davis, T.J. Martlock and John Koppe.
Youth soccer
The Green Dragons 9U soccer team (4-3) swept North Mecklenburg in a doubleheader.
Colin Donaldson’s hat trick led the Green Dragons to a 4-2 win in the opener. Maddox Goodnight scored the other goal. Griffin Smith and Bennet Clark were standouts.
The Green Dragons finished the sweep with a 2-1 victory. Wade Robbins scored both goals. Hank Webb led the defense. Bryson Loflin and Luke Graeber were standouts
