Concord couple charged with harboring African girl

CHARLOTTE (AP) — A Concord couple has been accused of bringing a girl from the Ivory Coast to their home 18 years ago and keeping her illegally.
The Charlotte Observer reported the couple is accused of paying the girl little to work in their home and at a hair braiding salon.
Eugenie Moyhe N’Dr Zie and her husband, Priva Desire Zie, are charged with conspiracy to harbor an alien and harboring an alien for financial gain.
A federal indictment states that Eugenie Zie owned salons in Concord, Charlotte and New York City.
Court documents say she brought the girl to New York in 1994 and moved to North Carolina a year later. It’s not clear where the now-28-year-old woman is.
