Cauble Creek Vineyard LLC is an estate vineyard in Salisbury specializing in muscadine wine and local goods. Located on 36 acres in western Rowan County, Cauble Creek Vineyard produces a variety of wines and offers other products made in North Carolina.
During September and October, visitors can pick their own grapes.

He will be involved in community events, such as Home Instead’s “Be A Santa to a Senior” program and Operation Medicine Cabinet. He will also be available to talk with assisted living residents and staffs at nursing homes, retirement communities, physicians’ offices and churches about issues affecting seniors, such as identity theft, options for care, healthy living and other relevant topics.

The association, newly formed this year, is encouraging Rowan County shoppers to spend $20 at a local business on Thursday, Sept. 20.
Many downtown businesses will offer a $20 deal on something that would usually cost more. “We want to get people to come downtown and get to know it a little better,” said Toby Hagmaier, owner of Southern Spirit Gallery.Help nourish seniors in Hunger Action MonthAt least one in seven seniors is at-risk of going hungry due to the inability to obtain sufficient food for their household or having to choose between food and medical care, according to Feeding America. During September, Hunger Action Month, Comfort Keepers in Rowan County is asking the community to make food donations to the Feed Seniors Now food drive.
“Hunger Action Month is in September, but seniors go hungry all year,” said Lori Eberly, owner of the local Comfort Keepers franchise. “We cannot fight every factor affecting hunger, but we can start here in our community by creating awareness about the issue and helping family members become more aware of the signs of hunger and malnutrition.”
Comfort Keepers system has launched a nationwide campaign to create awareness of the importance of a healthy diet for those 65 and over.

Rita Leazer and Linda Fairley have each been with the agency for 25 years and Danette Walker has been there for 15 years.
The agency is planning a special party for these women at Pinocchio’s Restaurant in Spencer to mark these milestones on Wednesday evening.
Walker joined the agency in 1997 as bookkeeper and computer system administrator. She is married to Roger Walker and has three children: Daniel, Maria and Kelsey. She also has three grandchildren: Dylan, Layluh, and Hayla.
Leazer joined the former Riley-Clay-Turner Insurance Agency in 1987. She is a commercial account manager in the Salisbury office and also worked in the Mooresville office for more than 14 years. She and Terry, her husband of 42 years, have a daughter, Elizabeth, who lives outside Atlanta.
Fairley has been in the insurance industry for 38 years and with the agency 25 years. She is the receptionist and also serves as the backup for the claims department. She holds the CPIW (Certified Public Insurance Woman) designation. She has a degree in mathematics from Catawba College. She is very active in the Boy Scouts of America, serving on the Troop Committee for Troop 401 and has helped with the Friends of Scouting annual fundraiser. She is the head of the Altar Society for the month of August at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is married to Norden Fairley and has a son H. N. HollyFreightliner Trucks announced production of its 500,000thvehicle at its Mount Holly plant this past week. The keys to the truck – a Freightliner Business Class M2 106 with a utility body – were turned over to Duke Energy officials.
With approximately 1,550 employees, the Mount Holly plant has produced the M2 line since its introduction in 2002.
The plant also manufactures the Freightliner Severe Duty product line.
“Reaching the 500,000- truck mark is a significant milestone that couldn’t have been reached without the employees’ diligent efforts to meet and exceed customer expectations,” said Mark Hernandez, plant manager for the Mount Holly Truck Manufacturing Plant.
Opened in 1979, the Mount Holly Truck Plant originally produced long-haul heavy-duty Freightliner trucks.
The plant underwent a major renovation and expansion in 2002 to ready the plant for the M2.
