SALISBURY – Students at Hanford Dole Elementary school met their school’s namesake today when they spent time with former U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole.
Dole spoke with half the school – kindergartners through second graders – at the Rowan Museum, which currently hosts an exhibit of the Salisbury native’s life and 40 years of public service.
Tuesday, Dole will visit with the other half of the student body, children in third through fifth grades.
She shared stories of her childhood growing up in Salisbury and lessons about honesty, respect and caring for others.
