EAST SPENCER – A moped driver was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car this morning.
The man’s name has not been release.
The collision occurred at 601 S. Long St. just before 11:30 a.m. Police said it appeared the southbound moped driver was trying to turn left when he was sideswiped by a passing vehicle, which was also southbound.
“He appeared to have minor injuries,” said Patrol Officer D.S. Dublin of the East Spencer Police Department.
The moped driver was on the ground when police arrived, Dublin said. The man was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center by Rowan County EMS.
