Jonah Patil, a junior at Rockwell Christian School, recently attended a debate training camp at Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C.
The instructors for this camp were certified by the National Forensic League. The students that attended were from all over the United States and Canada. Jonah debated several topics after learning how to research and present topics. The competitive debate topic for the week was, “Should the United States federal government substantially increase its transportation infrastructure investment in the United States?”
Jonah worked with a partner to debate this topic. The pair one two out of three debates.
At the end of the week, Jonah was the recipient of the “Outstanding Debater” award. Overall, he had a great week of learning, meeting new people, and attending chapel services.
