Woodson proclaims ovarian cancer awareness

?SALISBURY — Mayor Paul Woodson at Tuesday’s City Council meeting made two proclamations and several announcements.
Woodson proclaimed Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month for September and Biker, Blues & BBQ Rally and BBQ Classic Days Sept. 20 through Sept. 22.
Coming city events include:
• Downtown Salisbury Inc. will host Kids’ Night Out from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday.
• The Parks and Recreation Department will hold registration for the boys youth basketball program, ages 7-15, beginning Monday. Call Hall Gym at 704-638-5289 for more information.
• Catawba College and Livingstone College will play the annual Mayor’s Cup football game at 7 p.m. Saturday at Shuford Stadium at Catawba College.
• The 9/11 Memorial Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Firefighter’s Memorial located in the 1400 block of South Main Street.
