WOODLEAF – A man was taken to the hospital after being shot in the leg Monday night, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities were called to Erwin Temple Church Road, at Cooleemee Park just across the Yadkin River from Cooleemee, about 7:50 p.m. They found a man with a gunshot wound in his lower leg.
His injuries were not life-threatening, the Sheriff’s Office said. The man was taken by ambulance to Rowan Regional Medical Center, where he remained late Monday.
