Davidson teen commits suicide after robbing bank

CONCORD — The Concord Police Department has identified the teen who committed suicide Friday after robbing a bank. 

Maurice Spenser Vanheck, 16, of North Main Street in Davidson, entered the BB&T at 9686 Harris Road in Concord about 5:15 p.m. Friday wearing a mask. Police say he used a handgun to demand money before fleeing on foot. 

Vancheck shot himself after police followed him to a garage at a residence on Lolabridge Street, the release said.
