Artisan Faire at China Grove Roller Mill Museum

CHINA GROVE – The South Rowan Historical Society will host an Artisan Faire at the Mill event next Sunday featuring exhibits from local artists including a flutemaker and miniaturist.
The Open House event is from 2-4 p.m. at the China Grove Roller Mill Museum, 308 N. Main St.
The event is free and open to the public. There will be refreshments served at the event.
Terri Correll and Donna Deal are local miniaturists with more than 25 years of experience. Correll and Deal will display dollhouses, doll furniture and accessories at the exhibit. Both Correll and Deal will have many items on display and for sale. Correll enjoys working with bunka, a type of Japanese embroidery, to make quilts and rugs.
Members of the Old Rowan Fiber Guild will also display their work.
Judy Kandl, an architectural designer, who worked alongside others during the 2005 museum renovation.
Kandl will demonstrate needle punch embroidery and knitting. Othe members with various crafts will demonstrate their working including Holly Cormack, who will demonstrate tatting and crochet; Josie Esquivel will show spinning; Nancy Gaines, hatmaking and Beth Turneabe will show hand sewing and covered buttons.
Those interested will also get to hear from the artists about their crafts.
Local icon “Moon” Mullin, an award-winning thumb picker, will play guitar during the event.
