SALISBURY – Authorities said a Hess gas station clerk stole hundreds of dollars from the business in small increments since mid-July.
Sandra Denise Williams, 37, of Barbour Street in East Spencer, was arrested Thursday at the East Innes Street business and charged with felony larceny by employee.
She was released after posting a $500 bond.
Salisbury Police said the business began auditing employees earlier this year after seeing a large number of voided transactions.
An arrest report said Williams took $3 to $11 in cash from the register during more than 100 transactions between July 15 and Aug. 27.
Authorities said the money was pocketed after the transaction and the purchases were then voided.
Williams is no longer employed at the business, the report said.
