Man accused of stealing puppies, electronics

SALISBURY – Police arrested a 20-year-old accused of stealing from his landlord was she was on vacation in July.
Officers said Brandon Alexander Myers, of the 7500 block of U.S. 52, stole two televisions, three pit bull puppies and other electronics from a woman he was staying with on East Lafayette Street. Myers was arrested at his work and charged with felony larceny Wednesday.
The woman told officers she left on July 20 to go to New York state to visit relatives. When she returned on July 29, thousands of dollars in property were missing. Among the stolen electronics was a 40-inch flat screen TV, a 32-inch flat screen TV and two Nintendo Wiis, an arrest report showed.
Detectives found the 40-inch TV at Frank’s Pawn Shop in Salisbury, the report said. The 32-inch TV was found at Reliable Pawn Shop and one Wii game system was found at Poppies Gun and Pawn Shop, both in Salisbury. The receipts were traced back to Myers, police said.
Authorities said they have not recovered the woman’s puppies.
Myers was released after posting a $500 bond.
