Mobile home burns in Kannapolis

KANNAPOLIS — The Kannapolis Fire Department responded to a structure fire just after 10 p.m. on Friday.
The incident occurred at 1107 Red Street off of Mooresville Road just west of downtown. The caller advised dispatch that a mobile home was on fire and that evacuation of residents had taken place.
Firefighters arrived on the scene less than four minutes later to find a well involved structure fire and quickly set up a defensive fire attack to protect the adjacent home.
Fire crews fought an aggressive attack on the fire bringing it under control in just over 30 minutes.
Due to the fire load inside the home, firefighters remained on scene until 2:30 a.m. Saturday ensuring the blaze was completely extinguished.
Mooresville Road was closed for several hours while fire hose was stretched from the hydrant to the scene of the fire.
Kannapolis Fire Department was assisted by Landis and Odell Volunteer Fire Departments, which responded to additional calls within the city. Kannapolis Police Department and Cabarrus County EMS provided assistance at the fire scene. No one was injuries.
