Seth Culp earns Eagle

Seth Culp, 16, of Boy Scout Troop 333, is receiving his Eagle Scout Award today, Aug. 26, 2012, in a 3 p.m. ceremony in the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Scoutmaster Mike Rowell is presenting the award.
A member of Order of the Arrow, Seth has earned 26 merit badges. He was the past Chapter Chief for Rowan County and has served as Quartermaster, Historian, Scribe, OA Troop Representative and Senior Patrol Leader.
Seth represented Rowan County in 2010 for the 100th Anniversary of Scouting in Raleigh with Gov. Bev Perdue; attended Philmont Scout Ranch in 2010; backpacked/hiked 178 miles; and camped 71 nights.
Seth’s Eagle project was re-routing selected portions of the trail at Eagle Point Nature Preserve.
A rising junior at East Rowan High School, Seth is the son of Susan and Robert Culp Jr. of Salisbury. His hobby is blacksmithing, and he is currently an apprentice under James “Jeep” Sabo.
