SALISBURY — The Salisbury Planning Board will consider rezoning requests when members meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall.
The Planning Board will consider two requests to rezone property from general residental to residential mixed-use and establish a new Conditional District Overlay — one by Cornerstone Church & Child Development Center for 1.65 acres at 1325 and 1353 Faith Road and another by Marshall and Joe Ardrey for less than an acre at 1601 S. First St.
The Ardrey property includes a house on a triangle of land surrounded by N.C. 150, A Avenue and First Street, adjacent to Checkered Flag BBQ. They plan to use the house for professional offices or services, Zoning Administrator David Phillips said.
Bill and Tina Godair will request the rezoning for Cornerstone Church for a parcel located along Faith Road near the intersection of Faith Road and Suggs Avenue. The church has purchased the house at 1353 Faith Road and is renovating it for use as meeting space and childcare, Phillips said.
The Planning Board also will consider the Salisbury Tree Board’s recommended changes to the city’s landscape ordinance, including no more clear cutting without an approved plan to develop the property and clean-up afterward.
