SALISBURY — It was a lucky thing that Greg Hall was home when a production member of Showtime series Homeland asked to use his Annadale Avenue property.
The show, which airs on Showtime, is about a marine who returns home after being held as a prisoner of war by al-Qaeda and the CIA agent who believes he is a part of an al-Qaeda plot.
The show is filming in Salisbury and asked Hall and his wife, Sarah, to use their driveway to park their generator.
“I’m glad he was home,” Sarah said.
Sarah said she had wanted her husband to attend a concert with her and he decided against it. She was glad he was home at the time.
“It’s kinda cool that we get to rent out our driveway,” she said.
Filming began Tuesday in Salisbury and will continue through Thursday.
Salisbury Police Chief Rory Collins said the crew did not make a request to close the street.
“They’ve hired off-duty officers for security,” he said.
“They are doing filming at Hurley Park (this morning). Also a significant amount of filming at a private residence,” he said.
The show films in Charlotte. Salisbury native Katie Garner is actress Claire Danes’ stand-in/double.
