SALISBURY — Lancome national makeup artist Ricardo Costales and his professional team will do free mini spa facials and makeovers Thursday at Belk in Salisbury Mall.
Paris-trained and internationally acclaimed, Costales guest stars for Lancome on the Home Shopping Network and travels the country sharing the latest tips and beauty trends for the season’s hottest looks.
Kristen Bragg, manager of the Lancome counter at Belk, said each women will be paired with a member of Costales’ team for a one-hour appointment. Costales will rotate among stations, consulting and “doing the finishing touches,” Bragg said.
“It’s an exciting opportunity for Belk at the Salisbury Mall, and it’s going to be a really good opportunity for women to learn about products and application, as well as new trends and summer colors.”
Costales’ team will focus on skin care, sharing the best ways to look younger.
Depending on the number of appointments booked, Costales will bring up to six makeup artists with him, Bragg said.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Lancome counter.
Appointments require a $25 reservation fee, but the mini spa facial and makeover are free. Women can apply the $25 toward Lancome products after their appointment, or they may put the fee on a Belk gift card to use anywhere in the store.
To make an appointment, stop by Belk or call 704-636-5241, extension 269. Reservations must be made by Wednesday.
Costales made quite a splash when he came to the Salisbury Belk for the first time last year, Bragg said.
“It was phenomenal,” she said. “He is fun and flamboyant, and all the ladies had a lot of fun.”
While the Lancome counter hosts other makeup artists throughout the year, no one else has Costales’ reputation or stature, Bragg said.
“It is a big deal in Lancome to get him,” she said.
