SPENCER — Hoping to complement the N.C. Transportation Museum across the street, a new doll and toy museum has opened at 108 4th St. in Spencer.
The museum features thousands of dolls and toys, including more than 2,000 die-cast model trucks, five electric model trains on a 30-by-35 foot display and hundreds of dolls from the private collection of the late Amy Dawn Morris, a Spencer resident.
Morris’ sister, Beth Nance, and mother, Susan Morris, founded the museum in her memory. More than 20 collectors have loaned thousands of items to the exhibit.
