George W. Napoleon Surprise 75th Birthday Celebration

A surprise 75th  birthday celebration was held for Mr. George W. Napoleon on Saturday evening, June 30, 2012, at the Country Club of Salisbury with 75 guests in attendance. The festive occasion was shared with many family and friends.
The evening began with a short program honoring Mr. Napoleon with expressions from the Napoleon and Long families, grandchildren and Rev. Dr. David Bracken. Guests enjoyed a video that chronicled George’s early life and accomplishments and was followed by dinner and dancing.
Out-of-town guests attending were his sister, Fleetha Scott of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nephew Nathaniel Scott and family, Aberdeen, N.J.; Aunt Albessie Alford and cousin Christine Little of Decatur, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. Anthony King of Brooklyn, N.Y.; cousin Gladys Pegves of Washington, D.C.; Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Holland and family of Atlanta, Ga.; John Jones of Long Island, N.Y.; Yvonne Lawler of Phoenix, Ariz.; Stephanie Walker of Hollywood, Fla.; Ester Coley of Wilson; Avon Ruffin of Winston-Salem; Stephanie Morgan of Winston-Salem; Benita Ruffin of Durham; and Rev. Dr. David Bracken of Reidsville.
Mr. Napoleon retired from the New York City Police Dept. He is married to the former Carolyn Long, and they recently relocated to Salisbury.
