Here are the “after” photographs of houses shown to you last week when they were saved by Historic Salisbury Foundation, becoming part of the foundation’s revolving fund. The house on the left is the Jethro Rumple House, located at 330 S. Fulton St. The foundation retains restrictive covenants on the property, which was purchased from L.G. and Katherine Goodman in May 1979. The current owners are Clay and Martha Smith. The house on the right is the Heilig-Dyer House, located at 313 W. Thomas St. Restrictive covenants were placed on this property when then owners Kathleen Dyer McGill, R. L. McGill, Eula Scott Dyer McGinnis and F.D. McGinnis sold the property to HSF in 1983. The current owner is Janet Opdyke. There were three correct responses for the Jethro Rumple House, but no one could identify the Heilig-Dyer House. Those who correctly identified the house are Clyde Young, Richard Bowen and Martha Gascoigne. Each month, the foundation is holding a before-after contest as part of its 40th anniversary celebration. HSF will give a prize to the person with the most correct answers to the monthly contests toward the end of the year.
