From China Grove to China

Thirteen Carson High School students are immersed in Asian culture this week during a trip to China.
The students flew out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport last week and caught several connecting flights before landing in Beijing, where they met up with Zhang Peihong, an English and social studies teacher who taught Mandarin Chinese at Carson during the 2010-11 school year.
Peihong also worked with social studies teacher Amie Williams on a Chinese history and culture program.
The students have already spent four days in Beijing. Next, they’ll travel to Carson’s partner school, Jiangsu Qingjiang Upper Middle School in Huai’An.
After spending one night in Huai’An, they’ll head to Shanhai for two nights before returning home.
