GRANITE QUARRY — A new Mexican restaurant has opened in Granite Quarry, featuring karaoke in English and Spanish.
El Acapulco, located at 215-B Salisbury Ave., is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Owner Roberta Stogner and head chef Jose Alfaro offer daily specials, as well as beer specials Monday through Thursday.
Popular menu items include fajitas and burritos.
Patrons can take the mic from 6 to 10 p.m. every Thursday for karaoke.
The restaurant was part of a chain, but now operates independently, the owners said.
Owners in May asked Granite Quarry aldermen to consider the possibility of putting a liquor-by-the-drink referendum on the November ballot.
The board tabled the issue to the July meeting. Granite Quarry residents voted down a liquor-by-the-drink proposal several years ago
