Man accused of grabbing cash from friend, fleeing

SALISBURY — A 24-year-old Salisbury man is accused of grabbing more than $300 from a woman and speeding away Wednesday evening.
Salisbury Police arrested Nicholas Daniel Troutman, of Farm House Road, near the intersection of West Innes and North Church streets about 7:30 p.m.
He was charged with felony common law robbery.
According to police, Troutman parked his Honda Civic near the tennis courts on Lake Drive and beeped at a woman and her boyfriend at the park.
The woman told officers she recognized Troutman and walked toward his car. He asked her for gas money.
When she pulled out a SunTrust bank envelope with $330 inside, she said Troutman reached out, grabbed the envelope and left, according to the report.
The woman and her boyfriend attempted to follow Troutman briefly, before calling in the description of the car to police.
Troutman was stopped shorly after.
He was released after posting a $1,500 bond.
