Man wanted in death of Granite Quarry couple turns himself in

Khalil Abdul Farook turned himself in at the magistrate’s office in Salisbury Tuesday evening.
Farook was wanted on charges of felony hit and run in the Sunday accident that killed Tommy “Mark” Marshall Jones Jr., 47, and Suzette Burleson Jones, 48, both of Granite Quarry.
According to the Highway Patrol, Farook was driving a Saturn when the car ran off the right side of the road, he overcorrected and collided with the Harley Davidson that the Joneses were riding. The accident occurred on Airport Road. Farook ran from the scene.
Farook, who has a long criminal history, including assault and murder, is in the Rowan County Jail on $800,000 bond. Charges are two counts of felony death by vehicle, felony hit and run, driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, reckless driving and left of center.
Farook, 50, of 145 Briarwood Lake Drive, is also known as Donald Ray Miller and Duck Miller.
