Woman hit with pistol during violent home robbery

SALISBURY — Two men broke into a Harrel Street home and held a woman at gunpoint Friday night.
The woman was forced off her bed and struck in the face with a pistol several times as she lie on the floor about 11:30 p.m. Friday, police said. Her 2-year-old child was asleep in the same room.
Authorities have obtained warrants for Kenis Devonta Allen, 19, of 1200 Butler St. It is expected he will be charged with felony first-degree robbery and felony robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Police have not released the identity of the second gunman.
Officers said the two men entered through the front door. One suspect searched the home while the other assaulted the woman.
As of Monday morning, only a cell phone was reported taken.
The 21-year-old woman was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center following the home invasion. She was treated and released.
Her child was not harmed.
