Two newly trained Guardian ad Litem volunteers were sworn in May 10, to serve a much needed role for children in court in Rowan County.
George and Rebecca Orndorff of Gold Hill completed their 30 hours of training, which included instruction in investigations, interviewing techniques and court report writing.
Yolanda Butler, a previously trained volunteer, was also recognized as a recent transferee to the Salisbury area.
The Guardian ad Litem program is assigned to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children to the court.
