Driver dies in Concord crash

CONCORD — A motorist being pursued by police died Friday night when his vehicle crashed head-on with two other vehicles on Cox Mill Road, according to Concord Police.
Identities of the people involved have yet to be released.
A press release from the department says the three-car traffic crash occurred around 10:25 p.m. Friday on Cox Mill Road near the intersection of Edenbury Lane.
Before the crash, a Concord Police officer had attempted to stop the motorist for a traffic violation. The motorist was fatally injured when the vehicle he was operating struck two other vehicles head-on as the vehicles met in the oncoming lane of Cox Mill Road.
Occupants of the other two vehicles were injured and transported to Carolinas Medical Center Main and Carolinas Medical Center Northeast.
