SALISBURY — A peace pole dedication will take place during Let’s Get Connected Day, a celebration of music, food, dance and prayer from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
The annual event will be held at Ellis Park, 3541 Old Mocksville Road. Entertainment and enrichment will include the Overton Elementary Mini Funk Factory, North Rowan Connections Choir, Kujumani Dance Team from Love Christian Center in East Spencer, Native American spiritual circles and Hebrew songs by Dr. Seth Labovitz.
The circle of prayer will include Islamic, Buddhist, Jewish and Christian prayer.
Free hot dogs will be served after the dedication of the peace pole.
The event is hosted by the Covenant Community Connection, a subgroup of the Human Relations Council. Events sponsors are Food Lion, F&M Bank, Cheerwine, PFLAG, Rowan Regional Medical Center and Rowan County Parks.
