Jabberwock 2012
The Salisbury Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Delta Fort2tude Foundation, Inc. held their annual scholarship fundraiser event on Saturday, April 22, at North Rowan High School.
“An Enchanted Evening” was the 2012 Jabberwock theme. There were seventeen participants ranging from ages five to twelve who had been preparing for this event since February. During their preparation, the young ladies participated in workshops such as Bullying, Moments in Black History, Self-Esteem, and Dressing to Impress.
Little Miss Ma’Kayla Zanay Johnson, escorted by Gregory Jones (grandfather) was crowned as the 2012 Jabberwock Queen.
Little Miss Rashida Price, escorted by Vincent Price (father), was first runner up and Little Miss Janiya Pemberton, escorted by James E. Alexander (grandfather), was second runner up.
The participants concluded the program by dancing to the minuet with their escorts.
