SALISBURY β€” Rotary Club of Salisbury will host a dedication for the Patriots Memorial and Flag Concourse at 11 a.m. Tuesday at City Park, located at the corner of North Jackson and West Miller streets.

The incorrect day for the event was listed in a headline in the print edition of today’s Post.
The club offers the event as a way to express patriotism and appreciation for veterans and current military forces. The public is invited to attend the dedication and is advised to bring chairs due to limited seating.
The Patriots Flag Concourse and Memorial, where the Salisbury Armory was once located, features six walls displaying the names of United States veterans.
Each wall states, β€œThe Patriots Flag Concourse and Memorial is dedicated in honor of all who have served our country in this, and every generation and for all time.”
Alongside the walls, seven flags will be posted to represent the United States and its various military branches.
The dedication will begin with a color guard presentation, as well as a 21-gun salute in memory of fallen veterans. The dedication will also feature Teresa Moore Mitchell singing the National Anthem and other patriotic melodies.
John Holshouser, previously a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and currently an attorney, will be the featured speaker.
Parking with shuttle service will be available along Lake Drive. Handicapped accessible parking will also be located on West Miller Street near the City Park Tennis Complex.
Rotary raised $200,000 to build the project and commissioned sculptor Sue Landerman of Portsmouth, Va., to create six brick sculptures and a sign.
