Storms could hit the region today

Thunderstorms could develop in the region today.
A hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service cautions that scattered thunderstorms will erupt over the foothills of western North Carolina today and tonight.
A few storms could produce hail and damaging winds.
The chance for rain is 40 percent, then dropping to 30 percent tonight.
The high today will be about 80 with an overnight low in the mid-50s.
Friday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 75 and a low in the mid-50s.
