CLEVELAND — Hiding behind a piece of furniture didn’t help a 29-year-old Statesville man avoid jail time Friday.
In fact, it landed him additional charges for resisting a public officer and an extra bond of $1,500.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has also charged Joshua Daniel Rhodes of Loggerhead Road with obtaining property by false pretenses, second-degree trespassing and breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
According to an arrest warrant, Rhodes is accused of selling parts from a Cleveland man’s vintage cars.
Rhodes is also facing charges for misdemeanor probation violation out of county, with an additional $10,000 bond.
He was convicted of driving while intoxicated in Iredell County during February 2011 and sentenced to two years of probation, according to the Department of Corrections website.
