Scrabble deadline
Today is the deadline to enter Rowan County Literacy Council’s annual Scrabble Scramble fundraising game at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 at the Holiday Inn Salisbury.

St. Thomas auditions
The St. Thomas Players announce open auditions for “Dinner With Friends,” directed by Missy Barnes of the Catawba College Theatre Department, on Monday-Tuesday, April 30-May 1, at 7 p.m. at the Center for Faith & the Arts, which is the basement of Haven Lutheran Church at 207 W. Harrison St.
If necessary, call-backs will be held on Wednesday, May 2.
Only one night of auditions is necessary, and auditionees will be asked to do cold readings from the script. Headshot and resume is optional.
The director is looking for 4 actors, 2 men and 2 women, who can play early 40s.
The show will be performed at the Florence Busby Corriher Theatre on the Catawba campus June 13-23.

Coarsey is ‘Floyd Collins’
Salisbury’s own Jonathan Elliott Coarsey has the title role in the Carolina Actors Studio Theatre’s current production of “Floyd Collins,” CAST’s first musical theatre offering.
“Floyd Collins” is the real life tale of a caver who gets trapped for more than a week.
