KANNAPOLIS — First Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis continued a 51-year tradition on Palm Sunday with its presentation of “The Last Supper,” a living tableau of the last gathering of Christ with his disciples before his crucifixion.
The church sanctuary was transformed into the “upper room” for the re-enactment of Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Last Supper painting that springs to life when Jesus says, “One of you will betray me…”
Sitting or standing motionless at a larger than life-sized table, men of First Presbyterian Church took on the roles of Jesus’ disciples, each responding to Jesus’ statement in his defense — and asking, “Is it I?”
