SALISBURY — As two deputies approached the front of a Valley Drive home Wednesday night, officers said Jason Bowyer ran to the home’s back door.
But when he opened it, Deputy C.J. Cauble stood at the entrance pointing a Taser at him.
Officers went to the home about 11:30 p.m. after receiving notice that Bowyer was at 180 Valley Drive.
The 32-year-old had two orders for arrest for driving while license revoked and an expired license tag.
Bowyer complied with deputies’ requests, according to the arrest report, but when he went inside, he began putting on clothes before going with officers.
When he put on his jeans, deputies said, an officer asked to search them first and he declined.
Deputies checked the pockets and found a prescription pill in each pocket.
Bowyer then told officers, “These are not my jeans,” the report said.
Inside the home, officers found several syringes lying on the kitchen counter, along with a cutting tray with residue and two spoons, a report said.
Deputies asked the other occupant in the house, Jessica Absher, about the drug paraphernalia. She told officers, “We don’t live here. We just stay here.”
She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and was in jail Thursday afternoon under a $500 bond.
She gave the 180 Valley Drive as her address to officers.
Bowyer was charged with driving while license revoked, expired license tag, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of schedule II narcotics.
He was given a $2,500 bond and was in jail Thursday afternoon.
