SALISBURY — A 19-year-old drew officers’ attention Saturday night when he gave consent for police to search his car, but only the backseat.
Devin Kelly, of 615 Faith Road, was arrested shortly after police were called to the 1500 block of East Innes Street about a suspicious vehicle.
According to a Salisbury Police report, Kelly told officers they could “only search the rear passenger area of the vehicle.”
Police brought in a dog which alerted officers around the driver’s side door.
Inside the car, officers found an Ecstacy tablet, a small amount of marijuana, marijuana roaches, rolling papers and a butterfly knife.
He was charged with felony possession of narcotics, simple possession of marijuana, misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Kelly was released after posting a $5,000 bond. He was scheduled for a first appearance in court this morning.
