Ezra Cristman celebrates 100 years
Name: Ezra Fredrick Cristman
Present address: NC State Veterans Home, Brenner Ave.
Local connection: Worked for the VA in Chicago then was transferred to the Salisbury VAMC in 1958. Worked as a nursing services supervisor until retirement in 1990. Also coached baseball, basketball and football in the Monroe High School system.
Date and place of birth: Feb. 21, 1912 in Spring Green, Wis.
Parents: Frank and Lottie Cristman
Spouse: Rowena Cristman (deceased) was an elementary school teacher in Salisbury
Family members: Two sons and one daughter

Profession: Army Veteran, Staff Sergeant, service dates 6/11/1941-11/13/1945, served in Europe in WWII.
Hobbies: Loves watching all sports, especially golf.
Key to living a long life: Having a wonderful family. Hard work. Keeping in contact with friends. Loves playing poker and bingo. Spent all his money very wisely, including investing in Food Lion when he became able to do so. Now enjoys living with his new family at the State Veterans Home.
