Police: Robber grabs cash from register

SALISBURY — A man grabbed $350 from the cash register of a Freeland Drive convenience store near Walmart Tuesday night.
Salisbury Police said the man bought a beer at Murphy’s Express about 8:30 p.m. but grabbed the money and ran out of the door during the transaction.
Officers said the man ran to a white pickup truck and he and another man left.
While police were speaking to witnesses at the scene, the white truck came back to the store.
The driver told officers that he didn’t know the accused robber and that he had given him a lift to the store and was not aware of the man’s intentions.
The driver said the robber told him what he did after he was dropped off at the Latino Mix convenience store on South Fulton Street.
Police said they are continuing to investigate the robbery.
Police ask that anyone with information about the suspects to contact Salisbury Police at 704-639-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
