Phil Ford at Moose pharmacies Saturday

Former University of North Carolina Tar Heel Phil Ford will be at Moose Pharmacy in Salisbury and Kannapolis on Saturday. He will be in Salisbury from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and in Kannapolis from 2 to 4 p.m.
Ford will be sign autographs and talk with fans. Pharmacists will also discuss and promote health and wellness concerns. Ford will discuss the Phil Ford Foundation which strives to fight childhood obesity through fitness programs and proper nutrition.
Ford is the second leading scorer in Tar Heel history. Ford’s playing career started under coach Dean Smith, where he was the first freshman to start in his first game.
Ford was the 1978 Player of the Year. He was ACC player of the year as a junior and senior and won U.S. gold on the 1976 Montreal Olympics Team.
Ford grew up in Rocky Mount. He spent 12 years as an assistant coach in Chapel Hill.
