KANNAPOLIS — A Kannapolis man was in the Rowan County Detention Center on Thursday after police said he sold cocaine next to a Kannapolis school.
According to a Kannapolis Police report, Christopher Rushmeyer was given a $100,000 bond after an investigation determined the 24-year-old sold “a quantity of crack cocaine” out of his 402 Locust St. home.
The home is next to North Kannapolis Christian School.
Police said Rushmeyer was also in possession of marijuana, Lortab pills and drug paraphernalia containing cocaine residue.
Kannapolis Police spokesman Capt. Pat Patty said Rushmeyer is not believed to have sold drugs to students at the school.
Rushmeyer was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, two counts of selling and delivering cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for keeping cocaine, selling and delivering drugs within 300 feet of school property, possession of marijuana, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was in jail Thursday morning under a $100,000 bond.
