Update on Harry Welch movie, 'The Mill'

Local filmmaker Harry Welch Jr.’s film “The Mill” was honored at the New Bern Independent Filmmakers Conference held Oct. 29 at Craven Community College.
“The Mill,” a suspense film filmed in Rowan County and written by Welch, won awards for Best Horror Movie, Best Writing, Best Sound, Best Lighting and Best Special Effects Makeup.
It also garnered the Viewers’ Award in the feature category. Rob Rainbolt, who plays the character Nick in the film, won the Best Actor Award.
“The Mill” was produced by Nightmares at the Mills LLC and Forever Young Productions out of Salisbury.
“The Mill” was written by Harry Welch Jr., who attended the filmmakers’ conference. South Carolina producer Maxann Crotts Harvey spoke with Welch during the panel discussion.
“The Mill” was directed by Grainger Hines, who is involved in filming “Lincoln,” set to come out in 2012. It stars Tommy Lee Jones, Daniel Day-Lewis and Joseph Gordon Levitt.
