CHINA GROVE — A Charlotte man was hospitalized after he lost control of his SUV on Interstate 85 Thursday afternoon and flipped the vehicle onto its side.
An N.C. State Highway Patrol trooper told the Post the driver of a Toyota 4-Runner attempted to pass Carolyn Moseley about 4 p.m. but hit the right front of her vehicle.
The man, 31-year-old Mejia Flores Santos, of 6616 Idlewild Road, then overcorrected and flipped onto the right shoulder of the northbound lanes.
Charles Moseley said he was following his wife home when he saw the gray SUV driving aggressively through traffic.
Charles Moseley said he watched as the man weaved in and out of traffic before colliding with his wife’s car.
“It could have been so much worse,” Moseley said. “It was like slow motion.”
The Moseleys said they were on their way back home to Raleigh for the holidays.
“I’m just glad she got off the road,” he said, “and I’m glad I didn’t hit her.”
