Man held on break-in, assault charges
ROCKWELL — A Salisbury man is behind bars after being accused of breaking into a Rockwell woman’s home and assaulting her in an attempt to steal prescription medication.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged William Joseph Foshay, 24, of 1030 Apple Down Court, on Saturday with first-degree burglary, assault by strangulation and assault on a female, misdemeanor probation violation and misdemeanor probation violation out of county.
According to the arrest warrant, Foshay broke into the residence between midnight and 1 a.m. Saturday, punching Carlena McCrary in the face and smashing her face to the ground. He also put his hands around her neck.
McCrary suffered redness, swelling and a strained voice from the assault.
Foshay is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $102,500 secured bond.
