CONCORD ó The Vernon Robinson for Congress campaign will host a conservative film festival Saturday in Concord.
The event will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn, 7831 Gateway Lane, near Interstate 85 exit 49 off Concord Mills Boulevard.
Two documentaries, ěAgenda: Grinding America Downî and ěIndoctrination: Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America,î will be screened free for the public.
Robinson, who is running to represent N.C. District 8 in the U.S. House of Representatives, also will host question and answer sessions with the filmmakers.
ěThese films support our strong message of limited government and succinctly and powerfully express the battle being waged for the soul of America,î said Robinson, a Republican candidate, in a press release.
ěIndoctrinationî will screen at 3 p.m. Executive Producer E. Ray Moore Jr. will be present for the screening and to answer questions after the film. Moore is an author and homeschool leader, the press release said.
In the film, directed by Colin Gunn and Joaquin Fernandez, Gunn and his family travel in a yellow school bus across America chronicling the origins of the American educational system and the effects of public schools on the Christian family.
ěëIndoctrinationí provides a fascinating, though troubling, look at how our American educational system has come to be what it is today and challenges us to take action before itís too late,î Robinson said.
ěAgendaî will screen at 6 p.m., followed by a question and answer session with the filmís director, Curtis Bowers. A private reception for Bowers takes place at 5 p.m.
ěëAgendaí has been embraced by the Tea Party movement and shows the direct cultural and political links tying (President Barack) Obama to the socialist philosophy currently crippling America,î Robinson said.
Concessions will be available for purchase. Parking and admission are free.
