Deputies arrested a Kannapolis woman on Thursday after a drug raid yielded more than 10 pounds of marijuana.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, investigators raided 8744 Smith Road near Enochville at about 1:30 p.m. and arrested Wannisa Noy Vongphakdy, who was inside the home.
Deputies are searching for Vongphakdy’s husband, Dice, who authorities believe is also involved in the drug trade.
Investigators said they gathered evidence for about a week before obtaining a warrant and entering the home.
The marijuana was packaged in several layers of material, including shrink wrapped plastic, tinfoil and dryer sheets.
Authorities said dryer sheets are sometimes used to mask the smell of drugs.
Investigators said they hope to arrest Dice Vongphakdy later today.
At this time, Wannisa Vongphakdy is still being processed at the jail.
Check back later for more details.
