SALISBURY — Randy Hemann, executive director for Downtown Salisbury Inc., is a finalist for the city manager’s job in Red Bank, Tenn.
Hemann is up against four candidates who are all from Red Bank — a CPA, the fire chief, a real estate developer and chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party.
Hemann could not be reached for comment this morning.
With a population of 11,000, Red Bank is completely surrounded by Chattanooga. While a small city, Red Bank faces big-city issues, City Recorder Ruth Rohen said.
The city’s governing board fired the previous city manger Oct. 4 and conducted a speedy search for a replacement, she said. An interim city manager has been filling in.
Interviews with the four local candidates are tentatively scheduled for Nov. 21. Rohen said she needs to contact Hemann to set up his interview.
Mayor Monty Millard would like to have someone in place by the end of the year, she said.
Red Bank has a City Commission, including the mayor, vice mayor and three commissioners. All vote, and the commission will hire the new city manager and set a salary.
