Strings class performs

GRANITE QUARRY — The Intermediate After-School Strings class from Granite Quarry Elementary School recently performed at the Rowan Regional Child Development Center’s Fall Festival.
They played favorite children’s songs including “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” “London Bridge” and “Scotland’s Burning.” Classical selections included “Can-Can” and “Ode to Joy.”
Granite Quarry After-School Strings staff are Martha Smith, teacher, and Becky Lippard, assistant.
The After-School Strings Program is sponsored by the Salisbury Symphony and is funded by grants from The Blanche and Julian Robertson Family Foundation and The Rowan Arts Council. Classes are taught at Granite Quarry, Isenberg and Landis elementary schools as well as West Rowan High School.
