CommYounity 5K Saturday to benefit United Way

SALISBURY ó Rowan Regional Medical Center presents theCommYounity 5K and Kids Half Mile Fun Run on Saturday.
Both events celebrate 75 years that Rowan Regional Medical Center has served Salisbury and the surrounding area. All proceeds will benefit the Rowan County United Way.
The 5K Run/ Walk will begin at 9 a.m., with the Fun Run following at about 9:50 a.m. All 5K participants will receive a high quality dri-fit long sleeve t-shirt and a heavy duty quality goody bag. Awards will be given in 14 age groups for both males and females. Fun Run participants, 12 and under are also eligible for awards.
Graduates of RRMCís Beginning Runners Class will be running the race, including RRMC President Dari Caldwell. Caldwell will welcome the runners at the race start.
In kind sponsors for the event are Cheerwine, Marathon Business Centers, Sportrax and the city of Salisbury. The Salisbury Rowan Runners will provide registration, timing, and results for the races.

Online registration is available through Friday at noon at www.active.com Race day registration will be available at the Wilson Smith Outpatient Center beginning at 7 AM.
A post-race celebration will be held in Hurley Park off Annandale Street, near the race finish. Food, refreshments, and music will be available for all race participants. Race day parking will be available in lots A and B on Mocksville Avenue.
