CHINA GROVE — Police are seeking information after an elderly woman was robbed Oct. 19 in the parking lot of Food Lion on N.C. 29.
Police said the woman was robbed at about 10:30 p.m. by a black, heavy-set man approximately 5-foot-7. The man was reportedly in his mid-20s, wearing a white bandana on his head and a black fluffy jacket.
The report said the man walked across the parking lot in the 100 block of N.C. 29, confronted the woman and demanded her purse.
The man then shoved the woman into the back seat of her vehicle and grabbed her purse. He then walked across the parking lot and got into a waiting Chevrolet S-10 pickup and left the scene.
Minutes later, a woman was seen using the stolen credit card at a nearby gas station, as well as at the ATM machine at the same location.
Police ask that anyone with information to contact China Grove Investigator David Walther or the China Grove Police Department at 704-857-7755.
